The City of Westlake Joins a Growing Number of Cities Gaining Productivity and Reducing Risks with digiTICKET
Tulsa, OK, February 15, 2018 – Saltus Technologies, provider of the industry-leading digiTICKET eCitation solution, announced today that the Westlake Police Department successfully transitioned from handwritten citations to electronic ticketing with digiTICKET. After going live in December of 2017, the deployment is already benefiting the department and the public by eliminating manual errors and reducing the time spent on traffic stops.
digiTICKET allows officers to scan information directly from a violator’s driver’s license, improving accuracy and decreasing the likelihood of miscommunications or confrontations between drivers and police. Once data is entered in the system, it is automatically available for police records and court software. Having this information accessible streamlines the citation workflow and makes it simpler to compile violation statistics for later use.
“The switch to digiTICKET benefits both officers and citizens,” said Chief Chris Wilrye with the City of Westlake. “It improves the ticketing process in the field and for the courts by reducing errors and automating the process.”
The City of Westlake’s digiTICKET deployment consists of 15 handheld units. Portable printers are available for each unit, so officers can print accurate tickets immediately during traffic stops. The City has opted for the digiTICKET as a monthly service (SaaS), which provides all hardware and software for one monthly subscription fee with no upfront costs.
Westlake is located in Calcasieu Parish, with a population of approximately 5,000. The city joins a growing number of Louisiana jurisdictions successfully using digiTICKET in their community include the cities of New Orleans, Gretna, Monroe, Baker, St. Francisville, and Port Allen..
digiTICKET currently has more than 9500 end users in 17 U.S. states, generating over 80,000 eCitations monthly. digiTICKET has proven to reduce errors, improve productivity and eliminate manual processes. Agencies have the choice to either purchase the system or acquire it using the digiTICKET Solution as a Service pricing option, which requires zero upfront cost.
